"The success of CentOS has ended, and a great co-creation and inclusive Linux community is born, I introduce to you...Circle Linux"
— Circle Linux Group
Circle Linux is an open source and co-created Linux community. It will build a free and diversified system software ecosystem with global developers through a completely open and inclusive community, and finally develop a stable, smooth and safe production environment solution in order to achieve full compatibility with enterprise-level Linux. At the same time, Circle Linux is also a free and innovative platform, encouraging any person or organization to put forward new insights, develop new strategies, and practice new solutions.
¶ Why is Circle Linux recommended?
Recently, the CentOS project announced that CentOS Linux 8 will only be supported until December 31, 2021. CentOS used to exist as a downstream build from upstream vendors (it receives patches and updates after upstream vendors), but in the future it will move to upstream builds (test patches and updates before including upstream vendors). For the sake of security and stability, it is recommended to use Circle Linux.
¶ Where does Circle Linux start?
Circle Linux builds from the downstream (acting as the previous CentOS role), that is, builds the distribution after (not before) the upstream vendor.
¶ What is the goal of circle Linux?
A set of dependable, smooth and safe production environment alternatives are developed by the community.
¶ Who promotes Circle Linux?
Everyone is voluntary, Circle Linux is a community-driven project, and it will always be. Circle Linux will not be sold or manipulated by other companies in the future.
